Larry Lessing provides another excellent presentation with a lot insights about the benefits from the creative commons copyright approach.

Enjoy this Ted talk and then read on for why the creative commons needs more individual freedom to define it, alter it, test it and improve it.

One of our main problems is attempting to solve all problems by selecting the 1 best choice. We’re not that smart.

1.  Free markets, even in law, are necessary to discover the good and bad in our choices. Free Markets allows people to test and select competing ideas which in their Individual Opinion serves them best and that may provide benefits and rewards to all… And they can change their mind and choices without an act of congress…  Or

2.  We stick to allowing only 1 answer (because some group of politically powerful got their controls passed) and we punish, imprison or kill those who disagree…

I prefer number 1.

Individual Freedom is the answer to the problem of ruling elites. The only democracy in history worth bragging about is the Free Market.

Let Individual Freedom provide the answers or tyranny will.

This is a very good Ted Talk on the problems of political corruption and vote buying in a democracy.

He has created some very clear illustrations of the problems and shows a good sense of humor as well… I have a problem with his solutions.  Watch the video and continue reading below.

Excellent presentation with proposed solutions for political corruption and vote buying are leaning in a better direction.

Great presentation for a solution based on opposites. Opposite is not the same as better.

He makes excellent points, easy to understand, for a few of the reasons the system is broken.

His solution is to change the people in charge of problem creation… The problem is not how lunatics are elected. The problem is that the lunatics have taken the power to take from 1 person to give to the politically blessed.

The problem is not about how to elect ignorant and arrogant rulers, the problem is citizens are serfs and electing rulers is not a solution to the problem of slavery,wars, mega-monopoly protection and promotion, and monopoly money under political elites.

When people have the right to “Just say No!” to our rulers, we will begin to see the blessings of Individual Freedom, Free Markets, Innovation, Competition, and the Normal Process of Prices Decreasing While Quality Goes Up.

When people can choose and post what system of law they will operate under, we will see systems of law improve.

The only democracy in history worth bragging about is the free market.

The only way to protect your Individual Rights and Freedoms, which are the source of abundance, harmony, unfettered opportunity, health, morality and justice, is to protect the Individual Rights and Freedoms of those you neither like nor approve of.

The good news is, it makes no difference who won or who lost; because there was no meaningful difference between the candidates and they both work hand in glove for the political elite…

And that’s not you or me.

Why is that good news?

Because few people would want to experience evil crawling through their soul.

The Political Elite thrive through Political Power at the Point of a Gun, Fraud, Kidnapping, Extortion, Murder, Theft, Slavery, WAR and any other atrocity needed to keep Political Power Growing.

Their main source of money is crime.  They steal, con, fraud, conscript, brainwash and extort us to fill the black-hole they must have in their souls from their addiction to Power Over Others.

You still have the power of miracles.

It is up to each of us to unleash the miracles inside of us and help each other to do the same.

The politically powerful promote the idea that the only way for business to succeed, for inventors and innovators to get to market, for great literature be written is to use police powers which follow the guidelines of the politically powerful.

Freedom and government are the opposite sides of each other.  The politically powerful are not so stupid as to tell you they are there to take your freedom, your property, your children or whatever they want whenever they please.  They lie with sincerity and will repeat their lies when exposed with such vehemence and crazy stories, that they lull many people back to sleep.

Patriots are those who have discarded Freedom for the big lie that Freedom can only be protected by destroying it and replacing freedom with political power… And that somehow a choice of thieves is your only alternative for change.

There is no insanity on the planet that could sustain itself for decades without the structure of the state.

After robbing, maiming, terrorizing and killing family after family; the state will rescue a small dog and snarl that without the state all small dogs would be dead… Then they attack anyone who points to the families killed.  The state will point again to the small dog and claim it is the only barrier to a world of hate and your only recourse is to attempt to become part of the controllers of this engine for evil.

Lawrence Lessig puts it in his book The Future of Ideas:

… most of production in our society occurs without any guarantee of government protection. Starbucks didn’t get a government monopoly before it risked a great deal of capital to open coffee shops around the world.

All it was assured was that people would have to pay for the coffee they sold; the idea of a high-quality coffee shop was free for others to take.

Similarly, chip fabricators around the world invest billions in chip production plants, with no assurance from the government that another competitor won’t open a competing plant right next door. In each of these cases, and in the vast majority of cases in a free economy, one person’s great idea is open for others to take.

Lawrence Lessig presents some good information for and against different copyright regulations.

Patents, trademarks and copyrights are not the reason why people want to see others rewarded for what they have created.

We reward others in gratitude and, also, so that they will create more.

The creating more is not necessary.  Some people will give gifts and legacies in honor of others who are dead and are unlikely to be leaving new creations behind them.

Gratitude is not necessary.  Some people want to see an innovator rewarded to encourage still more and better innovations.

Some creators and inventors don’t care about either.  They invent, create, write, sing or whatever they do for their own internal drives and do not need or want the approval of the masses.

Like so many programs provided by the politically powerful, they are used frequently to the detriment of all.

Many inventors are aware that through the legal process, many great innovations come to a dead end.

The politically powerful have created processes for legalized theft where they can take someone’s invention or innovation without compensation and prosecute the individual(s) if they tell anyone.  You can’t go to court or seek legal remedies without being prosecuted.

Patents are used to keep competitive products off the market.  Many large companies buy patents to keep competition to their cash cows from the market.

Copyrights are extended to benefit mega-corporations and to halt derivative use of existing materials which could be satirized, edited for use in other formats; comic books, graphic novels, power points, video, audio recordings, video montages or who knows.

The state is a propaganda piece used by the politically powerful to commit actions that are criminal and/or violate contract under natural law.

There are those who believe that the benefits outweigh the harm of giving some group criminal powers.

R.J. Rummel, Professor of Political Science at the University of Hawaii, states in his book, Death by Government”, his conservative estimate is governments have murdered 169,198,000 of their own citizens between 1900 and 1987.

Do the math.  The politically powerful murder 222 people per hour on average of those who are supposed to be under their protection.

That doesn’t count the wars which kill that nation’s own children as well as the soldiers and families of the countries they invade.

The FDA wants to allow pHARMaceutical companies to sell prescription drugs without prescriptions from doctors.

The FDA is creating a position where many people will want others regulated for their own good… And the FDA will use any requests to prove Bureaucrats should run the world. This is a 3 part issue where 1 & 2 are relatively easy.

1. Choose Individual Freedom.

2. Create campaigns to encourage people to consult their pharmacist. If their pharmacist seems stupid, find a new one. I have read that pharmacists used to be better informed than most Medical Doctors of Drugs. The industry has been dumbed down so much to opening jars and counting pills, it may take a while to restore professional pride. The pharmacists have more time than doctors to learn about alternatives as well.

Online medical doctor, pharmacist and alternative to drug sites can be promoted and if you’re reading this, you have the ability to do computer research fro those who are computer illiterate. There are plenty of resources and will be more. So: Choose Individual Freedom.

3. With the availability to put pHARMaceutical products on the shelves should come liability as well. The lawmakers tend to limit liability of major corporations. The legal system is a mess and that may be the hardest for us to reform. If we each begin to choose and use alternative legal systems, we can probably create benefits across the board.

Benefits

There will be a savings for people who currently have to go to their doctor to get the same drug refilled year after year after year.

The main benefit is for the doctor.  The theory is the doctor protects the patient by monitoring side effects.  The reality is; any side effect is an excuse for a new drug.

With Individual Freedom comes Personal Responsibility.

Most people think Personal Responsibility is a great idea until they realize you have to have Individual Freedom for Personal Responsibility to exist.  At that point they decide to eliminate Personal Responsibility and replace it with perfect Godzilla governmental central planning, micro-management, tax collections, tax collectors, too many rules and regulations to read and they’re contradictory as well, a court system to enforce the regulations no one can read or understand, knowing this will create more of the same kind of perfect world we have currently.

Jury Nullification is a common law and natural law right.

Your rights predate any government’s constitution even though you weren’t born yet.

The case of John Peter Zenger is referenced as the trial responsible for embedding Freedom of the Press and a Juror’s Right to Judge the Law as Well as Fact in a Criminal or Civil Proceeding.

John Peter Zenger was accused of printing in his newsletter that the Governor New York was a crook.  Zenger was charge with criticizing the Governor which was a crime.  There is no question that Zenger broke the law.

If you were a juror would you have joined the other 11 jurors to find him “not guilty” even though he broke the law?

The Jury is the Conscience of the Community.  As a member of the jury, you answer to a higher power than the Judge.  You are responsible for justice… And to make certain there is NO Wiggle Room for the government to be unjust.

If they won’t tell you what the penalties are; you must find NOT Guilty.  Why?  Because they may be able to put someone in jail for 30 years, take their property, and move their family into the street… Which you would never allow if you knew what they might do.  If you don’t know, you have to find NOT Guilty to keep the government from becoming a dictatorship… Or reverse one that is.

Politicians, bureaucrats and their committees love to write and pass laws.  The US has over 140,000 pages of them with a new 1,000 pages per week on average.

The reason for this is that much law creates tyranny.  By taking away rights in very small and directed chunks, it is impossible for the population to be informed, organized or effective… Even when a campaign is organized and effectively executed, the politicians will:  Rewrite… Or Rename… Or Stick It into Another Bill at the Last Minute and they do as they please.

You have 1 Weapon which can undo everything they have done.
